1. What Data We Collect

PieMap.NZ collects only the minimum information necessary to operate the platform:

• Profile Data: Your display name, avatar image URL (if provided by the login platform), and login provider type are stored solely to attribute your public reviews and enable account features such as editing your own review.
• Review Data: Any public review you submit is stored and displayed publicly alongside your display name.
• Visited Locations: If you mark a pie location as "visited", that record is stored and associated with your account.
• IP Address Logging: Our servers may temporarily log your IP address to enforce rate limits and prevent spam. This is not sold or shared with third parties.
• Local Storage (Not Cookies): We use your browser’s Local Storage for theme preference and review history caching. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
• Third-Party Map Services: The map uses tile data from OpenStreetMap and CARTO, which may independently log your IP address.
• Analytics: PieMap.NZ does not currently use third-party analytics services. If this changes, this policy will be updated first.

2. TikTok Login — What We Collect and Store

When you sign in using TikTok Login, TikTok may provide PieMap.NZ with basic profile information permitted under the TikTok Login Kit user.info.basic scope. This may include your TikTok Open ID, display name, avatar/profile image URL, and other basic profile fields returned by TikTok.

PieMap.NZ uses this information only to:

• Create and maintain your PieMap.NZ account
• Allow you to sign in without creating a separate password
• Display your profile name or avatar beside reviews you submit
• Allow you to edit or manage your own reviews
• Allow you to mark locations as visited within PieMap.NZ
• Help prevent spam, duplicate abuse, or misuse of review features

PieMap.NZ does not collect your TikTok password. PieMap.NZ does not request access to your TikTok videos, followers, likes, comments, direct messages, phone number, date of birth, or posting permissions. PieMap.NZ does not post to your TikTok account.

3. Facebook Login — What We Collect and Store

When you sign in using Facebook Login, Facebook may provide PieMap.NZ with basic profile information permitted under the Facebook Login public_profile permission. This may include your Facebook user ID, display name, and profile picture URL.

PieMap.NZ uses this information only to:

• Create and maintain your PieMap.NZ account
• Allow you to sign in without creating a separate password
• Display your profile name or avatar beside reviews you submit
• Allow you to edit or manage your own reviews
• Allow you to mark locations as visited within PieMap.NZ
• Help prevent spam, duplicate abuse, or misuse of review features

PieMap.NZ does not collect your Facebook password. PieMap.NZ does not request access to your Facebook friends list, photos, posts, messages, events, groups, or any other Facebook account data beyond the public_profile permission. PieMap.NZ does not post to your Facebook account.

4. Other Social Login Providers

When you use Google or Instagram to sign in, we store only your display name and avatar image URL (where provided). We do not store your password, phone number, date of birth, follower lists, private messages, or payment information from these platforms. See their privacy policies:

5. How We Use Your Data

PieMap.NZ uses the data we collect solely to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Allow you to sign in without creating a separate password
• Display your profile name or avatar beside reviews
• Allow you to edit or manage your own reviews
• Allow you to mark locations as visited
• Enforce fair-use rate limits on review submissions
• Maintain the integrity of community ratings
• Help prevent spam, duplicate abuse, or misuse of review features

We do not sell, rent, licence, or share your personal data with any third party for any purpose, including marketing, advertising, analytics, or commercial use. PieMap.NZ does not monetise user data in any way.

6. Data Retention

Your profile and review data is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us (see Section 9). We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days.

Once a review has been indexed by search engines or archived by third parties, we cannot guarantee retroactive removal from those external systems.

7. Data Deletion — Facebook / Meta

If you connected to PieMap.NZ using Facebook and wish to remove our access:

1. Go to Facebook Settings > Apps and Websites.
2. Find "PieMap NZ" in your connected apps.
3. Click Remove.

Revoking Facebook access does not automatically delete your PieMap.NZ data. To request full deletion, contact us using Section 9.

8. TikTok Access and Data Deletion

If you connected to PieMap.NZ using TikTok Login and wish to revoke PieMap.NZ's access, you can do so through your TikTok account settings:

1. Open the TikTok app and go to your Profile.
2. Tap the ☰ Menu icon (top right) and select Settings and Privacy.
3. Go to Security > Manage app permissions or Connected Apps.
4. Find "PieMap NZ" and tap Revoke access or Remove.

Revoking TikTok access stops future TikTok-based login access but may not automatically delete your PieMap.NZ account, reviews, or visited-location records from our database.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of PieMap.NZ following any posted changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
